Unlikely

Unlikely. They say it calmly, like it’s already the end of something. Like there’s nothing left to say.
But the unlikely is really just a stage hardly anyone chooses to walk onto.
We think of odds as fixed. Almost settled. But odds only tell you what’s happened so far. They can’t know what happens the moment someone steps up and tries.
The ones watching can only guess how it ends.
The one who takes the stage can still change the story.
Some dreams look out of reach only because too few people ever had the nerve to try.
They’ll tell you it’s hard. That it probably won’t work. That you’re better off choosing something that already has.
Listen, if you want.
But don’t let them decide when the curtain comes down.
Because nobody really knows who you are.
They don’t know how patiently you’ll start over.
They can’t picture how many times you’ll get back up.
They have no idea what one more try might turn into.
And then another.
Staying in the audience is easy.
It costs you nothing.
It asks nothing of you.
Taking the stage means letting yourself be seen. Risking it. Feeling your heart go faster.
Believing in that one chance.
And if someone looks one day at what you’ve built and calls it luck, you’ll know luck was only the word others gave to the courage it took to step onto that stage.
